This week, Outriders posted a non-update that they are still working on things and it should be ready soon.

It mainly affects PlayStation players on PS4 and PS5, but it can happen on any platform. Some people are stuck at the Outriders main menu with a never-ending signed in status. We are supposed to get some of these changes alongside the inventory restoration patch, but every week the community thinks “this is the week” and then nothing happens. Outriders is the latest looter shooter to hit consoles and PC, and as per usual, there’s a nasty bug affecting some players that’s preventing them from playing the game. The game has needed sweeping balance passes, stability improvements to multiplayer and more, but this bug has been all-consuming. The other problem is that yes, Outriders does need other fixes and improvements, but no doubt many of those are coming a lot slower than they should be given the priority that is the extremely complicated process of item restoration. You only get one chance to make a first impression, and for everything else Outriders does right, this goes to show how fragile games can be and how one major bug can destabilize an entire community. For Outriders players still experiencing an endless sign in screen on consoles, People Can Fly has released a tentative solution. This was such a severe bug and it has taken so long to resolve that many players simply won’t be bothered to return after this being their initial experience.
But I was one of the lucky ones, and I can’t blame people who stopped showing up entirely during this period.įact is, it’s going to be hard to get them back. But curiosity got the better of me, and I played with all my characters through the bug’s existence, and never lost anything. I was like this for a little while, and thought I’d set the game down until it was fixed. I know many, many players who when they even heard about the bug, they stopped playing entirely as it just seemed like too much of a risk to keep going when you could log in one day and find all your stuff gone. But this bug hasn’t just affected those who physically lost items.
Some did that and were okay, others did that and lost items on multiple characters. For those that have lost their items, they were forced to essentially either stop playing or make an alternate character.
